The show jumper Coolio became the price highlight of the 2016 Hanoverian Autumn Elite Auction in Verden, Germany, on 7 and 8 October 2016.
A large collection of young dressage and show jumping bred Hanoverians was offered for sale alongside a collection of 37 foals.
Kent Farrington acquired the jumper Coolio (by Catoki x Satisfaction) for 140,000 euro. The bay gelding is bred by Stefan Kleine.
Eight horses sold for more than 50,000 euro. The second most expensive horse was the dressage bred Quarlito von Nymphenburg (by Quaterhall x Rotspon). The gelding, bred by Werner Rademacher, was reserve champion at the Hanoverian Young Horse Championships, and sold for 135,000 euro to Spain.
Exclusiv D (by Edward x Donnerschwee) sold for 95,000 euro, while the jumpers Quantika (by Quaid x Perigueux) and Cadanos (by Catoki x Lordanos) both fetched 70,000 euro.
German customers bought What a Man (by Weltruhm x Dacaprio) and Despina (by Destano x Full Speed) for 50,000 euro.
The most expensive foal in the collection was filly Belle Fleur (by Bon Coeur x Rubinstein), bred by Austrian Kathrin Gollner. It sold for 27,000 euro and will move to Anke Ott-Young's Avalon Farm in New Canaan, U.S.A.
A German client paid 18,000 euro for Caesar (by Cornet Obolensky x Stakkato). Foreign customers paid16,000 euro for Frankel (by Borsalino x Ampere), 15,000 euro for Festina (by Furstenball x Londonderry), and 12,500 euro for Ferrero Küsschen (by Franiskus x Desperados)
The average price for a sport horse was 29,500 euro, the average price for a foal was 8,257 euro.
