San Diamantino became the top selling horse at the 2017 Excellent Dressage Sales held at Bartels' Academy in Hooge Mierde, The Netherlands on Saturday evening 15 April 2017.
The 8-year old gelding by San Amour x Diamond Hit sold to a German duo for 250,000 euro.
The second most expensive horse was the 5-year old Hey You (by Romanov x Democraat), which sold for 170,000 euro to retired soccer player Luis Figo from Portugal. The horse is meant for Figo's wife, Swedish top model Helen Svedin.
The internationally competed young riders horse Boy Bentley (by Johnson x Ramiro Z) sold for 110,000 euro.
Fantastique (by Armani x Contango) switched owners for 80,000 euro. The wild card horse Contador (by Lauries Crusador xx x Rotspon) fetched a price of 75,000 euro. Eurolife Texel (by Rhodium x Jazz) achieved a knock down price of 75,000 euro.
The 9-year old Diarado (by Sandreo x Sir Sinclair) found a new owner for 70,000 euro. The same price was paid for Escobedo (by Vivaldi x Havidoff). The 3-year old Julius Caesar (by Dream Boy x Jazz) sold for 65,000 euro.
The Excellent Dressage Sales took place for the fourth time and 500 guests attended the auction. Thirty-six horses in total were auctioned.
