The Brightwells Elite Dressage Collection Sale is proving to be a popular date in the diary, and Brightwells are delighted that the 2017 sale in Addington, Great Britain, only the third of its kind, achieved its best overall result to date. As the first of the Elite sales of the year, it has provided a great start to 2017.
The sale, which took place in the main indoor arena at Addington Manor, was staged alongside the Premier League Dressage competition. The sale attracted a great audience, and included a few competitors who may not have intended to buy, but after seeing the quality on offer couldn’t resist, in the hope that they may have found their next superstar!
Lot 9 Danubio; a 4-year-old black gelding by Decurio topped the sale and achieved a pleasing return of £31,000. This was closely followed by Lot 1 Sir Burlington, an 11-year-old gelding by Sir Oldenburg, who had been successful at Prix St Georges Level in Belgium, selling for £30,000 to an overseas buyer.
The 3-year old gelding Jupiler (by Zack) sold for £26,000, while his peer Baks Zacco (by Zack) fetched a price of £25,000. The 5-year old Faszination switched owners for £20,000.
"The Elite Dressage Collection is open to older horses, and it was a pleasure to successfully sell Sir Burlington, we hope to offer more proven horses in future sales," said a Brightwells representative. "This Elite Dressage sale is fast becoming noted for its quality, and is an event which can only continue to develop and grow in the future. Brightwells are extremely grateful for the continued support from vendors and clients, both old and new."
