Former Dutch team pony Don Camillo du Bois has found a new rider, the 10-year old Dutch Romy Schravermade.

The 15-year old Don Camillo du Bois is NRPS registered gelding by Dornick x Eduard.

The bay gelding began his international competition career under Kaylee Gouda in 2012. One year later Daphne van Peperstraten took over the ride and became A-squad listed with the gelding. The high point in their career was finishing 7th at the 2015 European Pony Championships in Malmo, Sweden. In 2016 Van Peperstraten was selected on the Dutch team for the 2016 Europeans with her second pony Wonderful Girl.

Don Camillo du Bois sold to the Baars family and Shanna Baars made her international debut on the schoolmaster at the 2017 CDI Nieuw en St Joosland. The pair became A-squad listed and won bronze at the 2017 Dutch Indoor Pony Championships. They did not make it on the team for the European Pony Championships though. Their last international start was one year ago at the CDIO Compiegne in May 2018.

Don Camillo du Bois will now continue his career uner Schravermade, who also trains at Coby van Baalen's yard. Mara de Vries has been coaching Romy.

"I'm very happy it went this way," said Baars. "Don stays at Van Baalen's stable so I'll keep seeing him regularly. He's such a nice pony. Romy can learn much from him."
