So One (by So Unique x Diamond Hit) became the best sellers of the 2020 Hanoverian May Foal Auction which moved online from 14 - 16 May 2020 due to the corona pandemic.
Bred by Willem Klausing owned owned by Moscow restaurateur Andrei Hartley, So Une sold for 51,000 euro to American Sarah Thayer. The chestnut colt will be reared under the supervision of Eva Möller, who rides sire So Unique.
The second highest price was paid for Viva Las Vegas (by Viva Gold x Foundation). Bred by Reinhard Baumgartner, this foal sold for 20,500 euro to a client in Bavaria. The big framed bay is already the third foal out of the mare Formidable has sold via the Verden catwalk for a considerable sales price.
The third most expensive foal was a jumper, Blue Star (by Big Star x Diacontinus), which sold for 14,000 euro to Bavaria as well.
Twenty-foals were offered for sale in this online auction and they achieved an average price of 10,364 euro.
After a short interruption due to technical problems at the beginning of the final bidding phase, the first Verden online auction of the year finished well. "Numerous users were present during all four days of the online auction," said managing director Wilken Treu. "For the majority of the collection we had of course the most 'traffic' on Saturday."
Due to the corona pandemic, the Hanoverian Society will continue to offer foals for sale in the online auction format. The next auction will be 3 - 6 June 2020, followed by one on 10 - 13 June and 1 - 4 July.
Riding horses will be offered for sale in an online auction on 30 May. These talents can be personally inspected and tried out in the training and sales centre in Verden as of 18 May.
