Charlotte Bredahl, the U.S. Dressage Development Coach, is on the mind after undergoing neurosurgery at Palms West Hospital in Florida on Saturday 27 June 2020.

A few days before her operation an MRI showed a "mass" on her brain which required immediate removal.

The surgery went well and Bredahl was immediately in good spirits and eager to commence rehabilitation. Her ex-husband Joel Baker and best friend Kathy Connelly have been her close support through the process.

Connelly reported yesterday that Charlotte is doing really well.

"Her voice was strong and she was very positive," Connelly wrote. "Charlotte said that the rehab is tough because it is so tiring, but she is feeling improvement and feeling stronger already. She told me that she is moving probably tomorrow to a highly recommended rehab facility. She shared that the therapy will be more aggressive, but she feels ready for it. (...) She has a good appetite and is glad to be eating normal food."

Bredahl was moved from the ICU to a regular room and will soon move to a rehab facility.

"She was delighted about this because she can get more sleep and not be woken up as many times in the night," said Kathy. "Joel and Charlotte were told that Joel will not be able to be with her constantly at the rehab facility. Joel has been by her side steadfastly since the beginning. Charlotte said "that every day he has been her anchor and a total blessing". They feel sad about this news. Charlotte said, “It is hard, but that is how it is, and I am determined to proceed with the best therapy available for complete healing.”
