Jon D. Pedersen Joins Blue Hors' Trainers Team

Danish Olympic Grand Prix rider Jon D. Pedersen has joined Team Blue Hors as one of its home trainers.

Team Rider for Denmark

Pedersen has an established career as dressage rider and trainer. 

He compete at the 1989 and 1995 European Championships on Bravo and Nygaards Aspekt, he rode at the 1990 World Equestrian Games on Bravo. His career defining horse was Esprit de Valdemar, with whom was member of the Danish team that competed at the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games and 1998 and 2002 World Equestrian Games. He won team bronze at the 2001 European Championships.

From 2006 till 2013 he was Danish team trainer for the youth and U25 riders. 

Most recently he worked as general manager at the Dalumgaard riding club. 

Joining Blue Hors

Jon has now accepted the position of trainer at Blue Hors. 

"He will contribute to the development of our riders and horses, as well as contribute to our goals and vision to be among the best in the world in the sport," Blue Hors stated.

Blue Hors is currently worked with a mix of trainers.   Trainer Ulrik Sorensen is the official sports director at Blue Hors. 

In 2014 American based Lars Petersen joined Team Blue Hors as trainer and regularly commuted between Florida and Denmark for training sessions. The past two years he was unable to assist the riders on a regular basis due to the corona pandemic and quarantine restrictions. He was last in Denmark five months ago. 

Blue Hors' number one Grand Prix rider, Nanna Skodborg Merrald, continues working with her home trainer since her pony time, Michael Sogaard.
