German Grand Prix rider Juliette Piotrowski has decided go her own way and establish an independent business as a dressage rider and trainer.

The 28-year old Piotrowski relocated to Haus Kierst near Düsseldorf at the beginning of September. She was previously based with her mother, Claudia Haller, in Kaarst, Germany.

From Youth Classes to Grand Prix

Piotrowski began her career as an international dressage rider with the recently retired, Oldenburg gelding Sir Diamond (by Sandro Hit x De Niro).

In 2013 she won team silver, individual test silver and kur bronze at the European Young Riders Championships in Compiegne, France. At the German Young Riders Championships they got silver that year. At the 2014 European Young Riders Championships in Arezzo, they won team gold. They were members of the German team at three consecutive European Under 25 Championships. They won team gold in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

In 2018 Piotrowski began building her career on a new international horse, Duke Rubin (by Decamerone x Rubinstein), with whom she first competed at small tour level and moved up to Grand Prix level in 2020. Their most recent start was the CDI Le Mans in June 2021. She also has several young horses to ride.

Move Towards Independence

Juliette has now made the move to independence.

"I thought about going independent for quite some time, but right now was the moment to do it," she explained. "I spent all my riding life with my mother, she taught me nearly everything about horses and dressage, but at my age it was a natural move. And when I had the chance to get a string of boxes at Haus Kierst and start with my own little team, I instantly knew, that’s it! Thankfully I was immediately supported by my friends. I am very much looking forward to the exciting times to come."

Juliette will continue to work with trainer Oliver Oelrich, who has been her coach since her Young Riders' time.
