The Belgian Warmblood Association (BWP) will be hosting a "BWP Dressage Evening" on Friday 10 March 2023 at equestrian centre Azelhof in Lier as part of the third phase of 2023 BWP Stallion Licensing.  

Enjoy a day and evening filled with young and confirmed dressage stars, celebrating Belgian breeding!

Young and Experienced

The young dressage colts, who are still in the running for the title "BWP licensed stallion" will be presented twice on 10 March: firstly under the BWP test riders and secondly under their own riders. 

Approximately round 19h30 the BWP Dressage Evening will commence. It will be an interesting night for dressage horse breeders and dressage riders

BWP Dressage Evening

The gala will begin with the presentation of four interesting dressage ponies, who will kick off the evening. Amongst them are three licensed stallions: Nia Domo’s Bolero, Biebosschen Doline and Tongerenhof Cullinan, as well Dior JV van de Korenmolen who has scored well on multiple occasions, such as during the Best Moving Riding Pony competitions in Belgium.

Then the presentation of the new elite mares follows. Mares Kirmen de Mars, Inshallah van de Zelm and Lecarmone V will receive their elite label in person. 

The BWP Talent Scouting Team will give a demonstration under their national and international dressage riders. Topgirl van de Kempenhoeve (Annemik Vleugels), So Secret (Michiel Nevelsteen), Rianta van de Kempenhoeve (Amber Heidbuchel), and Quberon van het Beukenhof (Tom Heylen) will make an appearance. The "Dr. Tyskens" prize will be awarded to the best BWP horse that competed at the 2022 World Young Horse Championships. 

Then it will be time for the stallions. Firstly some young licensed stallions will be presented under saddle, amongst them Beethoven (by Belissimo M), Thor van ’t Swillenhof (by Secret) and Odiel (by Toto Jr). You will get to see how they developed one year after their licensing in 2022. Further advanced in their work should be Sunnyboy vd Kempenhoeve (by Don Deluxe), Rolex W van Prinsenhof’s (by Bon Coeur) and Willem Normandi (by For Romance).

The names of the newly licensed stallions of 2023 will also be announced as well as the 2023 BWP licensing champion

Young Riders on BWP horses

Not only young stallions but also young riders will be part of the BWP Dressage evening. The young generation of Belgian dressage riders will make an appearance at the BWP Dressage Evening.

Anna Van den Eynde (Olympic Aroma Krack) and Chloë Cleymans (Jondonderry) represented Belgium at the 2022 European Childen Championship and will ride that night.

Finally the evening will conclude with the presentation of the established BWP breeding stallions and dressage horses. With Lincom’s Lord Heros CL (by Heros Begijnhoeve) the evening presentations will move to small tour level.  Picasso van den Bruel (by Zack) will also show. Domien Michiels will ride Panthero vd Vogelzang (by Belantis) and Tom Franckx is a return guest on Quanto Curo vh Bloemenhof (by Quotenkoenig).

Finally the night will round out with Katia Smets on Jack Sparrow (by Desperado), Madeleine Witte-Vrees on Elton (by Escolar) and Kim Koolen on For Ferrero (by For Romance).  Kevin Laevens will showcase his Grand Prix level trained stallion Kozinsky vd Dries (by Quaterback).
