The Westfalian breeding society is hosting an online foal auction every two weeks. Here is an overview of the best selling foals in May in Munster.
15 May 2023: Sound of Silene
In the online foal auction of 15 May 21 horse and pony foals were offered and 18 of them sold.
Two foals sold for the top price of 19,500 euro: Sound of Silence (by Skyline to Be x Ehrenstolz and Be My Love (by Benicio x Zoom). Sound of Silence is out of dam Envy, who already produced the auction price highlight of 2017, Schlaumeier, who sold for 100,000 euro at that time. The Skyline to B foal found a new owner in Sweden, just like the sire who is Swedish owned. Be My Love also moves to Sweden.
The second highest price of 15,000 euro was paid for Fürstin (by Fanegro x Millennium) and this filly also moves to Sweden. Franz Heinrich (by Franziskus x Sir Heinrich) fetched 13,500 euro, while Empire B (by Escaneno x St Schufro) stays in Germany for 11,000 euro.
The most expensive pony foal was Gummibär (by Gold Garant x Domingo) who moves to Spain for 6,750 euro.
The average price for a sport horse foal was 10,904 euro, for a pony foal 5,300 euro.
22 May 2023: Lorriot
Twenty-two dressage and jumping foals were for sale in the online auction that concluded on 22 May 2023. For an average price of 9,269 euro, 13 of those changed hands.
Lorriot (by Le Marron x Weltjunge), bred by Heinrich Theil and owned by Petra Thormann-Chilewski was the best seller, changing owners for 18,000 euro. He moves to the USA.
The second most expensive colt was Findus (by Fanegro x Benicio), bred by Johannes Schulze-Kappelhoff. He sold for 14,500 euro. The most expensive filly was Sweet Love (by Secret x Bon Coeur). She sold for 17,000 euro to a German buyer.
