The year has only just started and the first online auction of sport horses is already a wrap. The DSP breed society hosted one on 28 December till 2 January 2024 and Giorgio became the price highlight.
A collection of 20 horses was offered, one dropped out. Nine rising 3-year old colts and 10 (brood)mares were presented for sale.
The rising 3-year old colt Giorgio (by Galaxy x Sungold) was the top seller. Bred by Lisa Schindele and owned by Munich based Sabine Lehner, the bay sold for 33,000 euro to a bidder from the south of Germany.
French clients bought the 12-year old broodmare Ruling Athene (by Dante Weltino x Aletto) for 21,000 euro. Bred by Harli Seifert, the black mare is in foal to Vivaldos. French customers also bought the 12-year old mare Zarin (by Zonik x Flemmingh) for 9,750 euro. She's in foal to Va Bene.
An American purchased 3-year old colt Vancouver (by Von und Zu x Quaterback) for 21,000 euro. An Austrian secured the 4-year old mare Diva Bena (by Destacado x Belissimo M) for 15,000 euro.
A Spaniard bought Best Boy (by Bellany x Florestan) for 11,000 euro. A Ukrainian client got the 14-year old mare Barclay (by Belissimo M x Sandro Hit) for 8,000 euro. She's in foal to Sebastino PS.
