Swedish Children team horse Hamilton's I Did It My Way has received a new rider at the start of the new year. Tidningen Ridsport first reported the news.
Hamilton's I Did It My Way is a 14-year old Swedish riding pony by Verona's Bo-Gi out of Million Dollar Mari (by Bayron 885). She is bred and owned by Charlotte Hamilton.
From Pony to Children Division
Hamilton's I Did It My Way started her international show career in the pony division under Swedish Amalie Ubbesen. The pair competed at their first and only CDI in Grote Brogel (BEL) in July 2021.
In 2022 the ride on the oversized pony was given to Tilda André Hokfelt, daughter of Swedish Grand Prix rider Pernille Hokfelt. They made their international show debut at the Nordic Baltic Championships in Flyinge in June 2022 and won gold by winning the team and individual test.
A year later they returned to the international arena at the Nordic Baltic Championships in Drammen, Norway, where they were third in the team test and won the individual test and gold medal. Three weeks later they represented Sweden at the 2023 European Children Championships in Kronberg, where they finished 8th individually and got team silver. At national level in Sweden, Hokfelt rode the pony in the 2023 Swedish Pony Championships and got bronze.
New Combination
As Tilda has reached the age limit for the children division and grown off ponies, a new rider has been found for Hamiltons I Did It My Way.
Owner Charlotte Hamilton has allocated the ride to 11-year-old Engla Svärd, a student of Elin Aspnäs. She started on B-pony Poohs Hunny and has most recently been showing D-pony Lupido L'e Luxe, a 14-year old NRPS pony by Le Matsjo out of Zamiejo, previously shown by Saga Söderlund and Romy Schaftenaar.
