The 5-year old Siegfried and the 6-year old Be Sure became the winners of the Bundeschampionate qualification classes held at the regional show in Syke-Okel on 10 May 2024. No less than 21 horses (!!) obtained a qualification score for Warendorf at this show.
Judges Jonas Weikum, Christoph Brüseke, and Hermann Steffens assessed no less than twenty-four 5-year olds and Sandra Kötter topped the board on Wilhelm Sieverding's Oldenbrug gelding Siegfried K (by Secret x Sir Donnerhall), bred by Friedrich Kuhlmann. The pair posted a winning score of 8.64 points with 8 for walk, 9.2 for trot, 8/.8 for canter, and 8.6 for submission and general impression. The runner up was Jennifer Stein aboard Bernadette Brune's Enrico de Hus (by Escolar x Don Juan de Hus) with 8.54 points. This chestnut Hanoverian scored 8.5 for walk, 9 for trot, 8.6 for canter, 8.1 for submission and 8.5 for general impression. Eleven of the 24 horses got a score of 8.0 or higher that earned them a ticket to Warendorf.
Bruseke, Steffens and Michael Krüger judged the 6-year old class in which 16 horses competed. No less than 10 (!!) of the 16 horses qualified for Warendorf. Leonie Richter and Helgstrand's Hanoverian stallion Be Sure (by Benicio x Scuderia) topped the board with 8.84 points. The bay stallion, who was shown by Thomas Sigtenbjerggaard at the 2023 World YH Championships, got 8.6 for walk, 8.8 for trot, 9 for canter and submission and 8.8 for general impression. Swedish Jessica Lynn Thomas piloted Lovsta Stuteri's Hanoverian mare Be My Love (by Bon Coeur x Floriscount) to second place with 8.52 points. The pair got 8 for walk, 9.1 for trot, 8.6 for canter, 8.4 for submission and 8.6 for general impression.
