The 5-year old Simba became the price highlight of the 2024 Hof Kasselmann Hybrid Auction on 14 June 2024.
The auction was part of the ‘Future Champions’ Youth Nations Cup show at Hof Kasselmann. This was the third edition of this auction and a collection of seven show jumpers and eight dressage horses, brokered by Paul Schockemohle and Ulli Kasselmann, was on offer.
It was a hybrid auction so bidding could be done live on the scene and online.

The price highlight of the evening was the 2019 born stallion Simba (by Sezuan's Donnerhall x De Niro x Hohenstein) ridden by Sina Eilers. He sold for 180,000 euros and was secured by a bidder from the United States.
The second-highest dressage bid, the 8-year old chestnut Oldenburg gelding Bon Ami (by Bon Coeur x Jazz x Gribaldi), also sold to the U.S.A. for 130,000 euro. He is trained and competed up to small tour level by Oliver Bielefeld.
The same price of 130,000 euro was paid for the 5-year old So Well (by Sezuan's Donnerhall x Welt Hit II).
The most expensive show jumping bid came for mare Chanaika PS (by Chaccoon Blue x Conthargos), which also sold to the USA for 138,000 euro.
the 4-year old Oldenburg Dudley (by Desperados x Rubin Royal) fetched 72,000 euro. Future du Temps (by Furst Jazz x Londonderry) went for 62,500 euro, while the 5-year old mare Vitalia (by Vitalis x Weltmeyer x Bormio xx) went for 58,000 euro.
The 5-year old Sans Regrets (by Sir Sansibar x Relevant) had a hammer price of 41,000 euro and moves to The Netherlands. The 4-year old Fidelity (by Foundation x Don Schufro) fetched 38,000 euro.
Great Atmosphere, Auction for Charity
The organisers Paul Schockemöhle and Ulli Kasselmann were more than satisfied with the result. "Once again, we offered some very good, young horses, which were also well received due to the good atmosphere. Despite the European Championship football match already starting, people stayed and followed the auction live. We are looking forward to the next project,"assured Paul Schockemöhle.
Ulli Kasselmann agreed with his partner: ‘We were able to experience a great atmosphere in the jumping stadium. I believe that this could be expanded and perhaps more horses could be offered. The joint hybrid auction at the Future Champions has proved its worth." Auctioneer Hendrik Schulze Rückamp's conclusion was also positive: ‘When you stand between Paul and Ulli, you always feel at ease. I fell in love with two horses, they were almost the most expensive, so I guess I also showed the right taste…"
Prior to the hybrid horse auction, a charity auction was held for the benefit of the international not-for-profit organisation JustWorld International. This charity auction raised a total of 11,000 euros for two three-day clinics with dressage rider Frederic Wandres and show jumping legend Ludger Beerbaum.
