Jochen Arl Hungry for Top Sport, Allocates Dollar Dream to Gonzalo Castillo

Spanish professional dressage rider Gonzalo Castillo Arroyo has added Jochen Arl's brand new Grand Prix horse Dollar Dream to his cast for an exciting line-up of competition horses going into 2025.

Dollar Dream

Dollar Dream is an 11-year old Danish warmblood gelding by Dream Boy out of Fourage Pilekaer (by Romanov x Victory). He is bred by Charlotte Jessen.

He made his show debut in Denmark in January 2018 and it was Jeppe Houmann Petersen who competed the horse last. Owned by the Finnish duo Nipsu Porthan-Broddell and Karolina Liuksiala, Dollar Dream was produced to Grand Prix level at Soren Wind's sales stable in Denmark.

Jeppe tipped German horse dealer Jochen Arl to check out Dollar Dream. Arl sees a grand future in the horse and purchased the horse.

Hungry For Top Sport

Arl acquired the talented liver chestnut as his "hobby horse" for international sport. He has allocated the ride to Spaniard Gonzalo Castillo Arroyo.

"In my time I have helped boost the career of many top riders, such as Patrik Kittel and Henri Ruoste. Two years ago I had to take it a bit more easy because of my health, but now the hunger is back to be part of the game," Jochen Arl told Eurodressage.

The Belgian based German horse dealer added, "I enjoy being at the horse shows, experience the atmosphere, and have a prominent role on the circuit as a horse owner. With Dollar Dream and more horses I want to help Gonzalo reach the highest level and enjoy the sport from the front row. We are dreaming of L.A. and there are plenty of mid-term goals we can achieve in the next two years."

Arl has taken Gonzalo under his wing as his new protégé for training and sales. The Spaniard is based at 360 ° Sportpferde in Duisburg, where he recently set up his own business with his life partner, Hungarian Grand Prix rider Berill Szoke Toth.

Castillo began his professional career as a rider for Jordi Domingo before moving to The Netherlands to work for Kirsten Brouwer. He then relocated to Germany and rode for Heiner Schiergen before finding a more permanent base at Gut Bertingloh. He gradually started to work on his own with horses at the late Holger Munstermann's yard in Marl.

In May of this year Gonzalo took the step to independence after six years at Gut Bertingloh. Gonzalo rented 15 boxes at 360 ° Sportpferde, where he and Berill ride four horses for Jochen Arl and Piet Lenskens alongside their own. Berill owns Qatar (by Quaterback x Stedinger) with whom Gonzalo rode his first Grand Prix level tests. Berill is qualified to compete at the 2024 Louisdor Cup Finals with Velasco, while Gonzalo is producing Berill's 6-year old Hanoverian gelding St. Tropez (by St. Schufro x De Niro) to FEI level.

"St. Tropez is super talented for the Grand Prix movements and a star for the future. Our goal is to get him ready for the 7-year old division and 2025 World Young Horse Championships in Verden," said Castillo.
