The Netherlands' highest scoring dressage pair at the 2024 Olympics Games, Dinja van Liere and Hermes, might be back in the mix for Dutch team selection for the 2025 European Championships in Crozet.
After missing the first three Dutch observation trials for team selection (CDI's in Exloo, Rotterdam, and Aachen), Dinjv van Liere is set to compete Hermes at the Dutch Championships on 25 - 27 July 2025
With some big dressage nations already having announced their team (Denmark - Germany), Dutch team captain Patrick van der Meer has revealed little about his potential candidates at the moment.
The show organizer of the Dutch Championships announced today that Van Liere will ride at the Nationals both Hermes (by Easy Game x Flemmingh) and Imposantos (by Wynton x Krack C). After the sale of Indian Rock and severe health struggles, Emmelie Scholtens is back with her new ride, Kyton (by Ferguson x Ferro).
Dutch Nations Cup riders Marieke van der Putten, Marlies van Baalen, Thamar Zweistra, Rowena Weggelaar, and Geert-Jan Raateland are all entered with their top horses: Zantana (by Zonik x Sir Donnerhall), Kuvasz (by Glamourdale x De Niro), Habibi (by Johnson x Don Schufro), Luxuriouzz (by Johnson x San Remo), Don Quichot (by United x Gribaldi), and Gladiator (by Totilas x Havidoff).
If Hermes proves fitness at the Nationals chances are great they will be on the team based on past performances.
The FEI nominative entry deadline is 24 July, the definite entry deadline is 19 August.
