Swedish Horses Selected for 2025 World Young Horse Championships

The Swedish warmblood society and Swedish Equestrian Federation have announced the names of the horses that will represent Sweden at the 2025 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses. 

The 2025 edition of the WCYH will return to Verden (GER) and will be held on 6 - 10 August 2025. 

After the two observation shows this spring, the selection committee has drafted a nomination list with eight young horses per age category and today announced their final pick.

Based on the size of its studbook, Sweden is eligible to send four combinations per age category. 

The Swedish horses are:

5-year olds

  • Zick Zack (by Gammelenggårds Zappa x Don Romantic) – Jacob Nörby Sörensen
  • Morricello II VH (by Moricone x Floricello) – Alicia Ryan
  • Santorio (by Vivaldon x Prestige VD ) – Jennifer Svensson
  • Sundown (by Suarez x Bellagio) – Johan Svensson
    • reserve: Buskhagas Vema (by Vivino x Franklin)– Linnea Holmgren
    • reserve: Quintino ASA (by Floricello x Damino SD) - Helena Hakansson

6-year olds

  • Pantera (by Romeo x Londonderry) – Sofie Lexner
  • Soretto (by St. Schufro x Quaterback) – Yvonne Österholm (FIN)
  • Severucci Ht (by Secret x Rubinrot) – Jeanna Högberg
  • Vera Wang (by Suarez x Guiness) – Mikaela Alderin 
    • reserve: Vilas Blarney (by Bon Coeur x Floricello) – Alicia Ryan
    • reserve: Bank's Henry (by Springbank II x Zardin Firfod) – Linn Larsson

7-year olds
