Four aspiring international dressage judges have successfully passed the exam to transfer up to Level 1 at the 2025 CDI-W Radzionkow on 26 - 28 September 2025.
Five judges participated in the transfer-up course, which included shadow judging, a written and oral exam. The course was led by directors Hans-Christian Matthiesen (DEN) and Christof Umbach (LUX).
To be allowed to judge at CDI events, a national judge needs to achieve "Level 1" with the FEI. Level one corresponds with the more familiar star-system to indicate the level of a judge. Level 1 = 2 * judge
Level 1 Judges may take on the role of ground jury member at FEI CDI events and only judge classes at Small Tour, Young Rider, Junior, Pony, Children and Young Horse level.
Having passed the Level Up course in Radzionkow:

To maintain status, Level 1 Judges must pass an Online Assessment every year (CES, pass a Maintenance Course every 3 years (CES) within the previous three (3) years, have judged as a Level 1 Judge at least at six (6) PSG/Inter I within the previous three (3) years, and have officiated as a Level 1 Judge at least at three (3) international events** or FEI Challenges (PSG) within the previous three (3) years.
The CDI-W Radzionkow also hosted a Young Horse Judges course and exam, led by Susanne Baarup and Raphael Saleh, and seven out of 13 participating judges passed. They are:
