Wellington, FL – NorCordia announces that Swedish rider Emilia Bergåkra will conclude her time with the company this spring as she returns home to Sweden to establish her own training and sales business.

Bergåkra joined NorCordia in 2021 and, during her time with the team in the United States, has built an impressive international record, including eight CDI victories, while training and developing NorCordia’s sales horses for the international stage.

In the coming weeks, Bergåkra remains fully focused on the winter competition season in Wellington, where she continues to train and compete NorCordia horses. She is also preparing for an exciting milestone: her upcoming U25 debut with NorCordia’s sales horse Fleur de Vie.

NorCordia co-founder Catherine Haddad commented on Bergåkra’s years with the team.

“Emilia is a fantastic rider and it has been an absolute pleasure to train her over the years,” said Haddad. “She has one of the best attitudes I have ever seen in the business - always dedicated, always putting the horses first, and always positive with a smile on her face. I will truly miss her, not only for her talent, but for her unwavering work ethic and commitment to good riding.”

Haddad emphasized that Bergåkra’s transition reflects an important part of NorCordia’s identity.

“While it is never easy to say goodbye to outstanding riders, this is also where NorCordia stands apart. Opportunities like this are hard to find in our industry. We mentor young riders, giving them the chance to develop their skills, gain real international experience, and grow with strong leadership at their side. I have been proud to serve as Emilia’s mentor, and seeing her ready to step forward independently is exactly the kind of success we hope to support.”

Bergåkra looks back on her time with NorCordia with gratitude.

“My years at NorCordia have meant so much to me, both professionally and personally. I have had the opportunity to develop as a rider, work with exceptional horses, and learn from a mentor who has truly shaped my approach to the sport. I am deeply thankful for the trust, support, and experiences I have gained, and I will always value my time as part of the NorCordia team.”

Bergåkra will depart NorCordia beginning of April, and the team looks forward to following her continued journey in the sport.
