Three horses - Quick Decision, Times Kismet, Mondrian - have been withdrawn from competing in the second round, the Grand Prix Special, of the 2026 German Dressage Championships in Balve.

The GP Special is scheduled to take place on Saturday 6 June 2026.

The German equestrian federation issued a statement that the three horses have been put into quarentine because fever has been diagnosed with Benjamin Werndl's Quick Decision.

"The gelding, and as a precaution his immediate stable mates, were subsequently moved to the quarantine area," the German NF stated. "In consultation with the rider and the team veterinarian, Dr. Anna Rötting, Quick Decision FRH was moved to the quarantine area as a precautionary measure. Aside from a fever, Quick Decision FRH is showing no other symptoms. His immediate stable mates, Times Kismet, ridden by Jessica von Bredow-Werndl, and Mondrian, ridden by Lisa Müller, have also moved into the quarantined area, but both are fever-free."

The German federation further added, "All three horses will not compete in the Grand Prix Special. This measure is being taken preventively to protect the other horses participating in the competition."

In Thursday's Grand Prix Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and Times Kismet finished 10th (71.500%), Benjamin Werndl and Quick Decision FRH were 13th (70.660%) and Lisa Müller on Mondrian was 19th (65.280%).
