A chestnut De Sandro x Domherr colt was named champion of the 2024 DSP Stallion Licensing in Munich on 27 January 2024.

A collection of 78 dressage and show jumping bred stallions was presented and 23 dressage colts were accepted. Eight dressage colts were named premium.

Champion Stallion

The champion of the lot was the De Sandro x Domherr, bred by Ariane Linneke and owned by Robert Schmid. He sold for 270,000 euro at auction and will move to the Hoffrogge stallion station.

The favourite of the licensing was Yara Reichert's black premium colt by Springbank II x Dante Weltino x Sir Donnerhall colt bred by Franz Winklmaier. He was not for sale.

Premium Colts Sell for Big Bucks

The other premium stallions sold very well in the auction. The price highlight was the premium stallion by (by Vivino x Lauries Crusador xx, bred by Eberhard Wotte and owned by Rainer Schepergerdes. He sold for 620,000 euro to Max-Theuer in Austria.

Andreas Helgstrand is back at spending money and acquired the premium colt by Vivino x Sandro Hit, bred by Ruth Bramlage and owned by Carmen Freisel for 245,000 euro. According to Zuchterforum, two online bidders "always outbid each other by thousands in the already high six-figure range, which really got on the nerves of the audience in the hall."

The premium colt by Dream Boy x Fürstenball, bred and owned by Jutta Steidl, sold for 185,000 euro.

The premium colt Veltheim (by Von Und Zu x Lauries Crusador xx), bred by Malte Klar and owned by IB Berger, sold for 100,000 euro and moves to Ferienhof Stucker.

Not a premium stallion, but still selling for much money was the licensed Valdiviani x De Niro colt, bred and owned by Antonius Schulze-Averdiek. He sold for 110,000 euro to Switzerland.

Non-Licensed Stallions in the Auction

34 approved stallions were auctioned and achieved an average price of 81,301 euro. The 33 non-licensed stallions cost 21,955 euro on average.

The most expensive non-licensed stallion was the Totilas x Benetton Dream, bred by Gestut Greim. He sold for 76,000 euro.

An Austrian paid 52,000 euro for Anne Klakow's non-licensed Raven x Quaterback. A Polish client paid 21,500 euro for the non-licensed. For Romance x Negro, presented by Gestut Waldershausen.
