The Australian Dressage FEI World Cup Qualifiers have finished for the 2008 Season and the top placed riders in dressage has earned the right to compete against the World’s best at the Final in America.
The Rolex FEI World Cup Finals in Dressage will be held at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas in April 2009.
2008 Australian Olympic rider Heath Ryan and his mount Regardez Moi won the Pacific League World Cup Dressage Final held at the Saddleworld Victorian Dressage Festival 11-14 December, which secured their right to represent the Pacific League in Las Vegas.
Heath is excited about taking the 13-year-old stallion to America and feels it will assist his preparation for selection on the World Equestrian Games Team in 2010.
“The Final should be really fun,” says Heath about his American trip, “And a great way to get the horse on the world stage in the lead-up to the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky in 2010.”
Heath hopes to be able to compete in Florida in the weeks leading up to the Final.
“Depending on how long I can be away from home I am looking at some competitions in the Florida circuit before Las Vegas,” says Heath.
The World Cup Qualifiers are conducted on a global scale through a system of continental leagues. The qualifiers test the skills of the best riders in the world and culminate in a yearly final to crown the top rider of the season, a prestigious and much sought after title.
