The 2009 Danish Warmblood Stallion Licensing started on 4 March 2009 with the first round of the 2009 Danish Young Horse Championships.
The first heat took place in the M-arena in the Exhibition center in Herning, Denmark. Uno Donna Unique has taken the lead and Hønnerups Driver fulfilled his role as favourite for the title by provisionally placing second. The second heat is to compete today March 5.
The gold medal winning mare Uno Donna Unique (by Blue Hors Don Schufro) pushed for power under local hero Andreas Helgstrand. This black beauty was the Danish Mare of the Year in 2007 and in Herning she scored 9.5 for trot, 9.0 for walk, 8.5 for canter, 9.0 for rideability and 9.0 for potential.
Helgstrand and Hønnerups Driver (by Blue Hors Romanov) pushed to the a second place by scoring 10 for trot, 9 for canter and 9.5 for rideability. The horse lost valuable points in walk being stressed. Many of the youngsters were quite tense showing in this big indoor arena for the first time.
