Sport Horses Scholz from Warendorf has launched an exceptional campaign for the commercialization of his sales horses: 100 euros from the proceeds of each horse sold are to be donated to the “Future for Youths” Foundation.

In this way, the proprietor, Fabian Scholz, is supporting the promotion and education of youths from the People & Horse Support Centre e.V.

“I have been looking for a suitable idea for social engagement for some time. During our Classical Sales Auction in Warendorf, which I had the pleasure of initiating together with Susanne Miesner, I was able to experience young people from the Centre at work. They assisted us during the final days and they did a super job. It really impressed me,“ said Fabian Scholz, who has been running a training and sales yard in Warendorf for years. Now the youths from the Support Centre are also profiting from Scholz’ engagement and his maxim “our horses, your success“.

The People & Horse Support Centre e.V. has dedicated itself to the task of finding a way onto the job market for young people with special needs. Since starting operations in the year 2001, approximately 80 youths have already passed their FN examination to become a groom.

“The job placement rate is very high lying at 97 percent. It is our aim to get motivated, young people back off the streets and provide them with a meaningful task. Whereby the horse is not merely a work object here, but is indeed the focal point, acting as a pedagogical and therapeutic medium,“ explained Ludwiga von Korff, Chairwoman of the Support Centre.

The basic vocational training of the youths with special needs takes place at the Thiesbrummel Riding Stables, where disabled people receive stimulation in the form of therapeutic riding. The prospective grooms are offered short internships in different establishments, for example working for Klaus Balkenhol, Monica Theodorescu or Lars Nieberg. As an “FN Groom” the youths can subsequently apply for jobs at stud farms, competition yards or riding stables.

“We find it a wonderful idea and are delighted that Fabian Scholz now wants to support us in such a consistent manner,“ said a pleased Ludwiga von Korff. Fabian Scholz always has a selected collection of top dressage, jumping and eventing horses with competition experience on offer at his stables. Last year he managed to qualify horses for the National Championships in all three disciplines: dressage, jumping and eventing.

His 100 euros donation per horse sold campaign runs until Christmas 2009 – whereby an extension has not been ruled out.
