2011 CDI Hagen

News of the first show performance by the jet black dream horse Totilas and his new young rider Matthias Alexander Rath at Horses & Dreams CDI Hagen from 6 - 8 of May in Hagen a.T.W. has spread like wildfire all around the world, and has made headlines as far away as New Zealand, as well as the USA.

Totilas Premiere: The Competition Never Sleeps

“I'm looking forward to my first competition appearance with Totilas in front of spectators”, says Rath. The four-legged heart-breaker and the BWL student will introduce themselves for the first time, after months of getting to know each other, out in the open at the first show highlight of the season. The organisers Ulli Kasselmann and Paul Schockemöhle are well aware of the significance of this famous pair. The spectacular show jumping and dressage festival at Hof Kasselmann will offer a suitably vibrant backdrop.

In any case, World Champion Totilas and his new rider will be battling it out for the gold ribbon in Hagen against World Championship runner-up Laura Bechtolsheimer and her top horse Mistral Hojris from the UK.

“We can't wait to see how many Dutch friends will come to visit us, to be there for the first appearance by their national treasure Totilas under the German flag!” says Dr. Ulf Möller (dressage management). It will certainly be top quality from 4 - 8 May at the foot of the Borgberg in Hagen a.T.W, as H&D 2011 celebrates its 10th anniversary.

Top Riders in Show Jumping: World champions everywhere you look

The start of the DKB Riders' Tour at Horses & Dreams meets Germany will attract not only competitors from over 30 countries, but also many interested visitors and, of course, television – ARD – to Hof Kasselmann. With show jumping World Champions Philippe Le Jeune and Jos Lansink from Belgium, the tour already has its first high-profile participants. Francois Kasselmann – responsible for the Show Jumping events at Horses & Dreams – is delighted about this response: “This means we will be welcoming two of the world's top riders to Hagen a.T.W. It's really fantastic.” In addition, spectators can look forward to a legendary visit from the UK. John Whitaker, the most successful English show jumper for decades, famous for his impenetrable “poker face”, hopes, together with son Robert, to conquer the Hagen Borgberg. The Whitakers have proven often enough that they are always good for a victory...
