The 4-year old dark bay Westfalian mare Lima Luna (by Lord Loxley x Tänzer) became the top selling horse at the 2011 Westfalian Spring Elite Auction in Munster-Handorf on Sunday 9 April 2011. The breeding product of Gerd Jugre sold for 190,000 euro to an Austrian buyer.
The horse will be trained at Holga Finken's stable in Germany.
The second most expensive horse was the 4-year old mare Hofdame (by Hotline x Weltfeuer) which sold for 87,500 euro. The 4-year old mare Solveigh (by Sandro Hit x Donnerhall x Rubinstein I) achieved a knock down price of 75,000 euro. The stallion Simple Man (by Sir Donnerhall I x Florestan I x Romadour II) sold for 54,000 euro.
The most expensive dressage pony was the 4-year old chestnut Odin (by Outbreak x Donnerhall Sir). This gelding sold for 26,000 euro to Melissa Mulchahey in the United States.
Twelve foals were up for auction and the price highlight was the bay elastic mover Rock Cheri (by Rock Forever x Florestan), which sold for an impressive 40,000 euro.
The average for a sport horse at this auction was 28,200 Euro, for a pony 14,250 euro and for a foal 8,225 euro.
