The Trakehner licensed stallion Finley M passed away at age 21. The stallion suffered from poor health and was humanely put down on Monday 22 August 2011. His entire life Finley M stood at stud at Gestut Domselshof in Kerken, Germany.

"Because of his bad health we had no other choice than to decide to euthanize him. We made the choice with a very heavy heart," said owner Manfred Keppel.

The dark bay Finley M was bred by Annemarie März from Gütersloh, Germany, and was sired by Batholdy out of an Italian Thoroughbred line. Dam Fora xx was by Athenagoras xx x Orsini xx.

Finley M became the licensing champion at the 1992 Trakehner Stallion Licensing in Neumunster. He received a special award for most typey stallion of the year. He did his stallion performance test in Warendorf in 1994 and scored 101,57 points, which placed him 11th out of 23 stallions. He was trained and competed up to S-level in dressage.

Finley M never sired a licensed son, but he produced several mares which were successful in breed shows, sport and as brood mares.

A beautiful portrait on Finley M can be read here (in German).
