Hanoverian Breeding News

The Hanoverian stallion licensing committee selected approximately one hundred stallions out of 705 registered colts at the pre-selection days held at 23 different locations in Germany spread out between 6 and 20 September 2011.

This group of one hundred colts , born in 2009, will face  judgment of the Licensing Committee at the 2011 Haoverian Stallion Licensing held in the Niedersachsenhalle in Verden, Germany, from 27 - 29 October 2011.

“New” and approved bloodline combinations feature the whole breeding range of the Hanoverian breeding area. Desperados and Stakkato present most of the offspring, as both are not only extraordinary sires, but also firmly established names when it comes to international sport.

Interesting young stallions like the Bundeschampions Benetton Dream and Quaid or Christ and Comte present their first crop of offspring at the Stallion Licensing. It is no secret any more that careers start at Verden in the last week of October.

Callaho’s Benicio (by Belissimo M x Velten Third) is an impressive example: He was licensed and especially honoured at Verden four years ago. The liver chestnut was sold to South Africa at the Stallion Sales, he returned to Germany for his future training, and he became the celebrated Federal Champion of six-year-old dressage horses under Anna-Sophie Fiebelkorn.

The Stallion Licensing starts on Thursday 27 October  with the first inspection of the stallions on the triangle. Following free running and free jumping on Friday 28 October the licensing results will be announced. A special moment will be the nomination of the Premium stallions on Friday evening.

Saturday 29 October will start with the presentation of the stallions on the lunge. The afternoon will be opened with the honour ceremony and detailed information on the premium stallions before the Hanoverian Stallion of the Year 2011 will be announced. The auction of licensed and non-licensed stallions will start at 3.00 pm.
