The Hanoverian stallion Royal Prince (by Rohdiamant x Prince Thatch xx) has won the title of USEF Dressage Breeding Sire of the Year for the fourth consecutive year.
His offspring have showcased their consistent type and quality in the breed show ring, allowing Royal Prince to reclaim the title. The USEF Leading Sire system has become a valuable way for stallion owners to evaluate the success of their stallion's offspring in many different venues from competitions throughout the United States.
Owner Hilltop Farm stated that it "would like to thank all the breeders and owners who confidently chose to breed to Royal Prince in his early years at stud. Your breeding and competition efforts are truly appreciated and this accomplishment could not have been possible without your effort."
A few of the highlights for offspring this season include Royal Ramiro (by Royal Prince x Ramiro's Son II) which finished the season as Region 6 Stallion Champion as well as earning a 3rd place in the USDF All Breeds Awards for DSHB Mature Stallions and an 11th place in Horse of the Year standings for 4&5 year old Stallion/Gelding Materiale. The yearling colt Rugby D (by Royal Prince x Gold Luck) earned the title of Grand Champion at the VADA/NOVA Summer Breed Show and was Reserve Grand Champion at Dressage at Stone Tavern. Rugby D ended his season with a 4th place in the GAIG/USDF Colt Championship at Dressage at Devon.
