The 2011 Pan American Games' gold medal winning Weltino's Magic has been leased to American Young Rider Brandi Roenick, who trains with Weltino's rider Steffen Peters in San Juan Capistrano, Ca, U.S.A.

Jen Hlavacek's Westfalian gelding Weltino's Magic (by Weltino x Diamond Boy) won team and individual gold under Steffen Peters at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico. In February 2012 the bay gelding was offered for sale. Soon ater he made his national Grand Prix debut at the start of the spring.

The 17-year old Roenick is based in Scottsdale, Arizona, but regularly travels to Peters for training. At home she is coached by her mother Tracy. Roenick's father is former National Hockey League All-Star Jeremy Roenick.

Roenick has been competing her horses Nobel (by Rohdiamant) and Pretty Lady (by Iglesias). In 2011 she won team gold and individual silver at the North American Young Riders Championships and silver at the U.S. Young Riders Championships.

Brandi told dressage-news.com that the initial lease period is through the summer show season to see how the partnership works. If it goes as she hopes, the Young Rider World Cup Final will be their goal.

“This is making a big jump,” Brandi told Dressage-News. “I’m hoping it will provide some excitement. I’m really focused and determined.”
