2013 Pavo Cup Finals

The KWPN licensed stallion Desperado was in charge of the 5-year old division at the 2013 Pavo Cup semi finals held during the KWPN Horse Days at the KWPN headquarters in Ermelo, The Netherlands, on Wednesday 14 August 2013.

Fifty-two 5-year olds competed in the semi-finals which took all day. Two horses, both ridden by international Grand Prix riders, did not receive an assessment. They were Adelinde Cornelissen's Djo ter Kwincke (by Jazz x Flemmingh) and Stephanie Peters' Don Diego (by Valeron x May Sherif).

The winner of the class was Emmelie Scholtens on the black stallion Desperado (by Vivaldi x Havidoff). The pair scored a whoping 94,5 points but only just edged out World Young Horse Championship bronze medalist Dorado (by Krack x Rousseau), who finished second on 93.5 points. Kirsten Brouwer and the chestnut Dancer (by Vivaldi x Tango) were third with 92.5 points.

The entire top 5 in the semi-finals was covered by horses that represented The Netherlands at the World Young Horse Championships. Gerdina Maree and her black Dream Boy (by Vivaldi x Ferro) were fourth with 90 points, while Diederk van Silfhout and Don Tango (by Contango x Jazz) slotted in fifth with 86 points.

The best 29 horses move on to the first round of the finals on Thursday.
