This year two horses - Dresden Mann and Bella Rose -- earned the 2013 Otto Lorke prize at the CDI-W Stuttgart in Germany on 17 November 2013. The owner, rider and trainer of these German rising Grand Prix horses were honoured with flowers, feed and a 1,500 euro cheque in Stuttgart.

The Otto Lorke Prize is given to the rider, owner and trainer of the most exciting German Grand Prix horse of the year under the age of 10. The award is named after legendary trainer Otto Lorke (1879 - 1957) and has been annually bestowed upon horses for the past 28 years. Previous recipients are, for instance, Rembrandt, Gigolo, Rusty, Farbenfroh, Goldstern, Grunox, and Satchmo.

Clodagh Wallace's Westfalian gelding Dresden Mann (by Dresemann) and Madeleine Winter-Schulze's Westfalian mare Bella Rose (by Belissimo M x Cacir AA) are this year's recipients.

Ingrid Klimke was supposed to compete Dresden Mann in Stuttgart but the gelding knocked himself during training on Friday morning and became unlevel. Dresden Man is bred by Hubert Vornholt. Klimke and "Alfi" have made their international Grand Prix debut at the CDI Aachen and competed at big national shows such as Munster, Hagen, and Balve.

As a trainer Isabell Werth has received a record 11th Otto Lorke Prize in her career so far. This year she rode the 9-year old chestnut mare Bella Rose into the spotlight. Bred by Heinrich and Wilhelm Strunk, the mare was four times in the Grand Prix and Special at the CDI Munich and CDI Perl-Borg.
