The 2,5-year old Hanoverian licensed premium stallion Dream Maker (by Damsey x Worldly x Laptop) has been euthanized due to a sudden severe illness.
The untimely death of this recently approved stallion comes as a great shock to owners and breeders Doug and Louise Leatherdale.
"We do not know the final diagnosis and are waiting for that from the clinic. We are of course heartbroken about this as he had such amazing ability and potential we felt," Louise Leatherdale told Eurodressage.
Dream Maker was bred in Germany by Doug and Louise Leatherdale, who had the stallion reared at Stallion Station Jens Meyer with which they have a long-standing partnership. The Leatherdale's own Meyer's most important breeding stallions, including sire Damsey, Herzensdieb, Hampton, First Dance and Falsterbo.
The bright bay colt was one of 19 premium stallions at the 2013 Hanoverian Stallion Licensing in Verden, Germany, in October 2013. He was only recently named Dream Maker.
