German Olympic individual rider Anabel Balkenhol has clinched the ride on a new stallion since making her move to Marbach, Germany, where she has become head trainer at the state stud.

The Rothenberger family sold their recently approved, 2,5 year old stallion Valero (by Vitalis x De Niro) to the State Stud in Marbach, where Balkenhol will be responsible for the bay colt's training and future dressage career.

Three weeks ago Valero was approved at the 2013 Westfalian Stallion Licensing in Munster-Handorf. The bay stallion is by the popular Dutch bred stallion Vitalis out of a full sister to Balkenhol's top horse Dablino (by De Niro x Wanderbusch II).

"Anabel Balkenhol is looking forward to take care of his training as a riding horse," said Rothenberger. "We wish all the best for Valero and hope that we will hear much of him and his foals."
