Tolegro, the only licensed Totilas' son that so far will be standing at stud this 2014 breeding season, will be available for breeders via Stallion Station Bockmann in Lastrup, Germany. Owned by Bernadette Brune, the drop dead gorgeous Tolegro is by legendary World Champion Totilas out of the same mare line as KWPN keur stallion Negro, which sired Olympic champion Valegro.
The 2011 born Tolegro was recently approved at the 2013 Oldenburg Stallion Licensing in Vechta, Germany, impressing the licensing committee and the crowds with his athletic conformation, gorgeous face and front quarters and active hind leg. The pitch black stallion moved with much power and go from behind in the freedom phase of the licensing and won over the hearts of many.
Owner Bernadette Brune of the prestigious equestrian centre Domaine Equestre des Grands Pins in Vidauban, France, fell in love with the black when he was a newborn foal in The Netherlands. From the start he already showed similar beauty, talent and potential which he must have inherited from his legendary sire Totilas, the black stallion which opened the gate to a unprecedented World records as well as new era in modern dressage sport under Dutch Olympian Edward Gal.
"It was love at first sight when I saw the photos of Tolegro as a foal on Facebook," Brune gushed. "At the licensing in Vechta everybody talked about his incredible charisma. The Schuil family, the breeders of Totilas, came especially to see him and fell in love with him. They told me he has the same character and movements as Totilas when he was two."
Tolegro's dam Leandra is from the same dam line as KWPN keur stallion Negro, which has been nominated for the 2013 KWPN Stallion of the Year Award, thanks to numerous offspring excelling in sport, including Charlotte Dujardin's world record breaker Valegro as well as KWPN performance test winner Everdale.
Tolegro's sire Totilas is the most expensive dressage horse ever sold and standing at stud in Germany for an almost unaffordable, whopping stud fee of 8,000 euro. With the coming of Tolegro, owner Berndatte Brune wants to give breeders the opportunity to infuse their blood lines with the highly coveted Totilas' genetics at the affordable price of 850 euro! Due to his genetic make up being homozygous black, Tolegro cannot produce chestnut foals.
The gorgeous Tolegro will be standing at stud at Gestut Böckmann in Germany and fresh semen will be available for breeders throughout Europe, including France. Fresh semen can be shipped daily from Monday till Thursday.
Tolegro is ridden by Heiko Klausing. "I am so impressed by his easiness and willingness to work under saddle," Brune commented. "He is so cool and already very confident with a rider on top."
The black stallion will be presented to the public under saddle at the Bockmann Stallion Show in Vechta, Germany, on 15 February 2014 at 19.00h.
