Nicola Ahorner has dropped out of the Austrian team that will compete at the 2014 European Junior Riders Championships set to begin next Wednesday 9 July 2014 at the Arezzo Equestrian Centre in Arezzo, Italy.
Ahorner, who combines FEI pony riding with junior level dressage, was selected to represent her country on the Junior Riders team aboard the liver chestnut Robbespiere
On Saturday 5 July Ahorner's 11-year old Oldenburg bred Robbespiere (by Rohdiamant x Grundstein) turned out to be unlevel and not fit to compete.
"Due to a slight injury at the day of departure, I can't start at the Europeans," Nicola told Eurodressage. "I'm now training my youngster Rovereto and with my other ponies. I will still visit my team mates in Arezzo to support them."
The Austrian equestrian federation has not announced who the reserve riders are and whether someone will be replacing Ahorner.
