The United States Equestrian Federation has recognized Laura Graves for her competitive achievements in 2015 by honouring her with the William C. Steinkraus Trophy.
The trophy ceremony is part of the annual USEF Pegasus Awards Dinner, which took place in Lexington, KY, on 15 January 2016. This is the first time Graves has been awarded the William C. Steinkraus Trophy.
Graves was nominated for the 2015 USEF Equestrian of the Year title, but it went to Elisabeth Goth (Lebanon, Ky.), who was awarded the Robert P. Strub Trophy. At the Kentucky State Fair World’s Championship Horse Show, Goth earned three titles, including World Champion of Champions Five-Gaited Ladies, World Champion Five-Gaited Ladies Gelding, and World Champion Five-Gaited Ladies Mare, as well as Reserve World Grand Champion Five-Gaited.
The 28-year old Graves became the 2015 U.S. Grand Prix Championships, won team gold and individual silver at the 2015 Pan American Games team gold and individual silver medals and finished fourth at the 2015 World Cup Final in Las Vegas.
