Hanke Ostermann has been appointed Hanke Ostermann as breeding advisor at the Dressage Performance Centre Lodbergen (DLZ). The certified manager is breeding and rearing will take up his new post as of 1 April 2016.
Ostermann will work at the insemination centre and be in charge of advising and counselling breeders from eastern Friesland, Hanover and other federal states in German. He will support advisor Kar-Heinz Hooghoff, who handles clients from Westfalia, Rhinelander, Oldenburg, Bavaria and Baden Wurttemberg.
Ostermann is replacing Karl Moormann, who resigned from his function on the DLZ-team at the end of last year.
"With Hanke Ostermann we welcome a highly qualified and motivated expert in the field of dressage horse breeding," said DLZ's managing director Urs Schweizer.
Ostermann gained experience working at Josef Kathmann's brood farm in Bakum, Germany, where he did his internship for his degree as "Pferdewirt Breeding and Rearing". He also worked on the yard of the Jane and Peter Bartram in Australia. Upon his return to Germany he worked at Jens Meyer's stallion station in Dorum for a few years.
The 30-year old father of twins has his own training and competition stable in Dunum, Germany, of which the management will be handed more to his wife, show rider Gitte Hinrichs, while Hanke commutes to Lodbergen.
