The organisation of the 2017 European Dressage Championships for senior riders in Gothenburg, Sweden, on 22 - 27 August 2017 have announced that the program will also include an international Under 25 tour.
Lövsta Future Challenge, the Swedish national show circuit for U25 riders, will go international in Gothenburg as the first in a series of international U25 competitions sponsored by Antonia Ax:son Johnson of Lovstra farm.
The top U25 riders from the leading nations in dressage and showjumping will be invited to compete, individually as well as in teams.
"We will have a number of classes in the program, which are not a part of the championships. The Lövsta Future Challenge classes are for U25 riders in both dressage and showjumping and the riders will have the opportunity to ride in the main arena, Ullevi Stadium," said Tomas Torgersen, who is the show director for the European Championships.
The goal of the Lövsta Future Challenge CDI show circuit is to give the horses and riders the right qualifications to compete in international Grand Prix and have a career in the national teams. Lövsta Future Challenge is also a strong force in working with sustainability in the equestrian sport, and sustainability is high up on the agenda for the organization during the FEI European Championships.
