Janne Rumbough has decided to retire her number one Grand Prix horse Junior from competition sport. The pair rode their last test together at the 2017 CDI-W Wellington on Sunday 14 January 2018.

"l have decided to retire Junior from competition, as he told me this weekend he only like to give me beautiful rides at home," said Janne Rumbough.

Junior is  a 16-year old PRE stallion bred by Kaye-Eddie Lanys at Gremlan Farms. He is by Rumbough's imported PRE Grand Prix stallion Gaucho III out of La Nina III (by Brioso VI).

Rumbough took the grey stallion from young horse level to international Grand Prix. She began competing him nationally 11 years ago as a 5 year old and has taken him to international Grand Prix level. They began competing at Grand Prix level in 2013. They won the national PRE Grand Prix championships title in 2013 through 2015. In addition the duo won the 2014 U.S. Dressage Finals Adult Amateur Grand Prix freestyle title.

"He has taking me to many places so special to me," said Janne, "from training level to National GP Championships and CDI competitions. Thank you to Mikala (Munter) for being my coach for many years. I could not have done with out your help!"

Rumbough is a resident of Palm Beach, Florida and owns MTICA farm in Wellington, Florida. The abbreviation stands for More Than I Can Afford. "And that’s not only money, itt’s time and family. Horses involve your whole life," Janne once quoted in 2002.

The 73-year old evergreen is not hanging her tails with the retirement of Junior. She is currently also competing the PRE bred Armas Zumbel at international small tour level.
