From 14 till 17 October 2018 the Westfalian breed society held its pre-selection days and after three days forty-seven dressage bred colts were picked to appear at the 2018 Westfalian Stallion Licensing at the end of November.
The Westfalian stallion licensing committee selected a total of 75 young colts, of which 28 are show jumping bred and 47 are dressage bred. Thirteen stallions have been put on the waiting list.
The best represented sire this year is the 2014 Westfalian licensing champion Borsalino (by Boston) with five sons accepted.
Bundeschampion Benicio, who has done a few national Grand Prix tests in Germany but now completely disappeared from the sport scene, has four sons accepted. Baccardi, Floriscount and Franziskus have 3 sons in the running.
The 2018 Westfalian Stallion Licensing takes place in Munster-Handorf on 26 - 28 November 2018.
