British Olympic champion Charlotte Dujardin has acquired the 4-year old Westfalian mare Alive and Kicking (by All at Once x Furst Piccolo).
Bred by Michael Schulte in Unna, Germany, the black mare was discovered as a youngster by American Lauren Asher. One month ago she sold Alive and Kicking to the Swedish based dressage owners' duo Bjarke Laustsen and Patricia Florin.
Asher bought the 5-year old Danish warmblood stallion Conde Nord (by Charmeur x Hohenstein) from them and sold her own 4-year old mare Alive and Kicking at the same time.
On 3 - 6 October 2018 Dujardin was in Sweden as the guest judge rider for the 4-year old division of the 2018 Swedish Warmblood Young Horse Championships in Flyinge. Right after the event rumours were rife about a pending sale of a Swedish horse to the Olympic champion. Dujardin declined to comment on the sale at the time.
Asher and Alive and Kicking competed once in Holland in the 2017 VSN Trophy Finals, a 3-year old talent scouting competition. The pair placed eighth. Since then Lennart Bos had been training the black mare, before she sold to Sweden.
