Shaolan became the best selling horse of the auction which took place at the 2019 German Sport Horse (DSP) Saddle Licensing in Marbach, Germany, on 1 - 3 November 2019.
The saddle licensing was just a small one with only two dressage stallions approved. Quo Vadis (by Quotenkonig x Londonderry x Warkant), bred by Anton Herre, was licensed as well as the Swiss owned Geniel (by Goldberg x Don Frederico x Filon d'Or), bred by Lothar Wanner.
Thirty young sport horses were auctioned in Marbach and the 4-year old black stallion Shaolan (by Shomari S x Levisto x Rubinstern Noir) became the best seller, moving to Austria for 54,000 euro.
The 3-year old Florestine (by Fursten-Look x Diamond Hit x Florestan) will also relocate to Switzerland for 46,500 euro.
Franzl (by Fidertanz) also sold to Switzerland for 40,000 euro. Americans paid 30,000 euro for Quaters-Rubin (by Quaterstern).
The licensed Quo Vadis is listed as sold for 32,000 euro to a Bavarian client.
The average price for a horse at this auction was 23,370 euro and for a young stallion 19,700 euro.
