The year 2020 has started off well for French Olympian Jessica Michel-Botton. Head dressage rider at Haras de Hus in France, Michel was allowed to expand her business to outside clients in 2018 and her endeavours are paying off combining training duties with sales.

In the past two months Michel was able to sell no less than six young horses she had in training or owned herself. Dressprod first published the news of the sale of those six horses.

Don Vito to Denmark

Her 2019 French Young Horse Champion Don Vito de Hus has been sold to Andreas Helgstrand in Denmark. The now 6-year old Baden Wurttemberger bred Don Vito (by Don Juan de Hus x De Niro) is bred by Elisabeth Rütz and was owned by Xavier Marie, the owner of Haras de Hus.

Under Jessica Michel the bay gelding finished 10th in the preliminary test and 14th in the Finals at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Ermelo, The Netherlands, last summer.  He went on to win the 5-year old division at the 2019 French Young Horse Championships in Saumur in September.

Investments with her Husband

A few years ago, Michel began investing in foals with her husband Gilles Botton and several other Belgian partners. At the 2019 Oldenburg stallion licensing she presented the British bred Don Amour Waverley (by Don Juan de Hus x Sandro hit), which was listed for sale as a foal on Eurodressage. He was not accepted and has now been sold as a sport horse to French Claudia Chauchard, who also owns Swing de Hus.

Also the Don Juan de Hus x Contendro, which was presented at the 2019 Hanoverian Stallion Licensing has been sold to a French international Grand Prix rider.

The 5-year old KWPN stallion Kayden (by Desperado x Uphill) has been sold to French investor Delsaux. The horse has moved in training with Christelle Marie, who is a former Haras de Hus assistant trainer.

The 5-year old chestnut Hanoverian mare Fortune Carrée de Hus (by Don Juan de Hus x Rubin-Royal) has been sold to ICFE, the company representing the Cadre Noir in Saumur.

The 7-year old Selle Francais bred Dior de Grez Neuville (by  Don Juan de Hus x Youssouf) sold to Alenka Jochems, a student of Swiss Grand Prix rider Antonella Joannou. He was owned by Lise Dupeyrat and previously shown by Clémentine Dhennin Giraud.
