Austrian Grand Prix dressage rider Victoria Max-Theurer is spreading her wings as a horse owner and invested in a carriage driving horse, Bambucca.

Bambucca is a 12-year old Austrian warmblood by Breitling W out of Arielle (by Calido I). He is bred by Herbert Pichler.

Owned by Rudolf Pirhofer, the grey Bambucca made his international show debut in 2015 as a 7-year old driven by his owner. The pair got the bronze medal at the 2015 European Young Driving Horse Championships in Mezohegyes, Hungary. Between 2016 and 2019 he competed at several 2* and 3* driving events as well as at the 2018 World Driving Championships for single horses.

In August, Max-Theurer acquired Bambucca, but she will not be re-schooling him into a dressage horse. He will stay with driving and be further developed by a new driver, the 26-year old Austrian Alexander Bösch.

Max-Theurer has two Breitling offspring in her stable, her 2015 European Championship ride Blind Date and young rising GP horse Benaglio. By selling Bambucca to Victoria the horse will stay preserved for Team Austria.

"From my perspective as a rider, I can say it's a strong moving horse which thrilled me with his excellence, balance and elasticity," Max-Theurer told AWO. "You feel like trying it out under saddle. Rudi trained the horse very well and definitely contributed to the fact that Alexander matched very well with him from the start. I think the two really found each other. Thankfully Rudi will continue to provide his wisdom and expertise in the future. It gives security to all."
