German professional dressage rider Alexandra Sessler has taken over the ride on the Grand Prix horse, Quadriga's Don Cismo.

Quadriga's Don Cismo is a 13-year old Oldenburg by Diamond Hit out of Cosmopolitan (by Campari M). He is bred and owned by Quadriga stud.

As a 3-year old he was licensed at the 2010 Oldenburg Stallion Licensing in Vechta after doing his 30-day stallion performance test in October 2010 and scoring 7.8 for dressage and 7.14 for show jumping. He totalled 7.76 points.

He was first competed by Matthias Schneider in 2011, then once by Stefanie Schatz-Weihermuller, followed by Stefan Puschmann in 2013.

Developed by Schneider

In 2017 he moved into training with German Olympian Dorothee Schneider, who made her show debut at Inter 2 level in July 2017 at the regional show at Linslerhof in Uberherrn. She competed the stallion extensively at national level in 2018 and did one international, the CDI Fot in September 2018 where they twice finished second in the big tour.

Schneider further competed Don Cismo at four national shows in 2019. This year she had him out for a show in Wartenburg in May and won the Intermediaire A.

Move to Sessler

Only a few weeks ago Don Cismo moved from Schneider's stable to Alexandra Sessler, with whom the stallion will continue his training.

The new duo tested the waters in their first show appearance at the national high profile show at Gut Ising near Chiemsee on Friday 4 September. They scored 62.367% in the Grand Prix.

"Don Cismo has only been with me for a few weeks," Sessler told Eurodressage. "We still need time to get to know each other better."

Sessler also rides Quadriga's Sezu, a 7-year old Oldenburg stallion by Sezuan x Rubinstein, for the same owner. He has been with Alexandra for two years. The pair competed in the M-level test at Gut Ising and placed 8th with 67.206%.
