The French Equestrian Federation (FFE) has announced the horse-and-rider combinations that have been selected to represent France at the 2020 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden, Germany, on 9 - 13 October 2020.
The French selection is done by two different departments. The Societé Hippique Française (SHF) selects the 5 and 6-year olds while the FFE picks the 7-year olds.
Most recently the 2020 French Young Horse Championships were held in Fontainebleau and last weekend the 7-year old Championships took place in Le Mans, but the actual team selections were held at an observation trial in Le Mans, the same weekend as the 7-YO Nationals.
The selected combinations are:
5-year olds
- Djembe de Hus (OLD, by Damon Hill x Argentinus) - Owner Haras de Hus - Rider: Jessica Michel-Botton
- Zouzo (by Zack x Soliman de Hus) - Owner: Helgstrand Dressage - Rider: Jessica Michel-Botton
The first reserve is Golden Romance de Malleret (OLD, by Governor x Sir Donnerhall) ridden by Jessica Michel-Botton. The second reserve is Parodie ter Dolen (BWP, by Fursten-Look x Di Caprio), ridden by Charlotte Chalvignac Vesin.
6-year olds
- Barcelona de Malleret (OLD, by Bretton Woods x Diamond Hit) - Owner: Haras de Malleret - Rider: Pauline Guillem
- Ninjago (HANN, by Negro x San Remo) - Owner and Rider: Antonin Schuhard
7-year olds
- Deauville de Hus (OLD, by Don Juan de Hus x Don Frederico) - Rider and Owner: Jean-Marc Favereau
- Quatergirl (HANN, by Quaterhall x Don Henrico) - Owner and Rider: Antoine Nowakowski
