In July 2020 Pia Fortmuller's mom, the German Dagmar Fortmuller, took over the ownership of the horse together with her daughter.

"Ever since my Orion I have always had a special place in my heart for any Jazz offspring and although he is so different to my first Grand Prix horse, Orion," said Pia. "There are definitely characteristics in Gio that warm my heart and remind me of my dear old friend. And it sure is special to know Orion’s light keeps shining on in everything he taught me and keeps carrying forward in a very special journey."

Pia and Goldfinch made their Grand Prix debut at the Thunderbird Show Park in Canada a month ago and scored "a solid 68%" in the Grand Prix.

" I am so proud of him, especially since he is just 9 years old so lots of green moments but he scored a solid 68%. I haven’t been riding Gio for a full year yet and it’s already been such a special journey with my little Jazz buddy," said Fortmuller.
