Just Wimphof (by De Niro x Riccione x Sandro Hit) is the best represented sire at the pre-selection days for the 2021 KWPN Stallion Licensing with 15 sons entered.

The high amount of colts presented comes as no surprise as Just Wimphof was the most used sire by dressage breeders in The Netherlands in 2017 with 234 foals born in 2018, the most offspring of all KWPN dressage stallions that year.

500 Colts Entered for Pre-Selection

Around five hundred show jumping, dressage and Gelderlander colts have been entered for the pre-selection days which take place between 26 November and 10 December 2020.

The dressage colts pre-selection takes place 26 November till 2 December 2020 and almost 300 colts are entered for that. The late pre-selection day for those dressage colt, who missed it due to various reasons, is on 17 December 2020.

Just Wimphof has 15 offspring entered. In comparison last year Toto Jr was the best represented sire with 29 offspring.

German Blood Popular in Holland

German blood is popular with KWPN breeders. Just Wimphof has fully German lines and also the second best represented sire is German. Toto Jr (by Totilas x Desperados) has 12 offspring entered.

Daily Diamond (by Daily Deal x Fürst Heinrich) has 11 offspring registered for the pre-selection, For Romance (by Furst Romancier x Sandro Hit) has 10.

The best represented Dutch bred sires are Desperado (by Vivaldi x Havidoff) and Indian Rock (by Apache x Vivaldi) with 10 offspring each.

Franklin (by Ampere x Ferro) has 9, Ferdeaux (by Bordeaux x Ferro) and Painted Black (by Gribaldi x Ferro) have 8, Dream Boy (by Vivaldi x Ferro) and Ferdinand (by Vivaldi x Havidoff) have 7. Take not how Ferro is the dame sire in four of those stallions!
