Thirteen Colts Selected for 2021 KWPN Stallion Licensing on Fourth Pre-Selection Day

On the fourth pre-selection day on 30 November 2020, thirteen colts were added to the group of young stallions that is allowed to participate in the 2021 KWPN Stallion Licensing in Ermelo in February 2021.

The pre-selection days for the 2021 KWPN Stallion Licensing started on Thursday 26 November 2020 at the KWPN headquarters in Ermelo, The Netherlands.

Four out of six pre-selection days have now taken place and it has brought the tally to 56 selected colts out of 176 that were assessed.

"In general we had to search a bit (for quality) today," said chair Bert Rutten about the fourth day, "but we are very happy with the selected colts. In the category of young sires, we selected several sons by Franklin and Geniaal for the next round."

"In general today we saw too many colts who did not move enough uphill and stayed too much on the forehand. We were also critical about the walk, just like on the first three days," Rutten added. "When the walk was not clear in the rhythm, we rejected the them. A few times the ground cover was not that great, but the rhythm was good, so we gave them the benefit of the doubt."
